A NEW GENERATION

A NEW GENERATION

Our school-based organizing actively combats the climate crisis while also building the newest generation of activists.

Our school-based organizing allows us to support frontline youth leadership by meeting young people where they’re at, in school. Through school-based organizing we educate, build and support the perspectives, realities and decisions of youth who are most affected by the climate crisis. We often do this through clubs, presentations, and workshops. Youth entering our school based organizing learn relevant climate education on top of being equipped with the skills to organize and solve the many climate issues they face today. In doing so we are apart of creating a new generation of climate activists educated in the issues and in the solutions.

How Does School-Based Organizing Work?

School-based organizing typically starts with a presentation in a classroom. From there trained organizers work to set up in school or after school club spaces by partnering with awesome educators! Throughout the year organizers partner with students to grow in areas of organizing and climate education allowing students to learn about the climate crisis, learn new skills, and actively apply those skills by being apart of the climate movement. School-based organizing spaces allow young people to take to the streets, create art, create education, and take many different types of meaningful action. Our school-based work often centers on campaign work, allowing us to lead mobilization efforts in many different areas. Many of our allies depend on our mobilization abilities, often bringing 10s to 100s of youth.
