San Francisco Climate Cohort

This semester we are running a paid opportunity for high school students to learn about and organize for intersectional climate issues in San Francisco. More specifically, the Spring Climate Cohort will be a space where students of color and low income students can identify what climate solutions are necessary for their communities and selves as well as gain real experience in advocating for those solutions.

Possible topics:

  • Bayview- Hunters Point Radioactive Contamination

  • Treasure Island Radioactive Contamination

  • Environmental racism

    • Climate Justice is Justice for Black & Brown Lives!

  • Immigration caused by Climate change

    • Why Climate Justice is Migrant Justice

  • How climate change impacts food

    • ​Black and Brown people deserve access to fresh and healthy foods!

    • Fixing an unstable food system

  • How to organize a protest!
  • Writing workshops
    • How to tell YOUR story!​

We are accepting applications until February 3, 2023

Sessions: Wednesdays 5:30-6:30

Food provided!

$400 stipend provided!

Sessions begin February 8


Students do not have to have any prior experience or knowledge on climate justice, environmental racism, or environmental classism. Instead, we are looking for students who demonstrate characteristics that show us they are open to learning and joining their peers in taking action.
